MEET THE WOMEN BEHIND THE CLUB!

After joining us in July 2024, Charlie, Sophie, and Zara have helped support the running of the club in so many ways - from planning the weekend trips you love so much and booking all of our social event in, to paddling after you in the water with a camera. Find out more about these fab gals that volunteer their time to make this club so great .

Charlie Rowan

CONTENT ADVISOR

Charlie moved to Bristol in 2022 after returning from living in America where she surfs in the friendly waves and warm water of South Carolina. Keen to keep improving and surf as much as possible, she also loves to cheer on and encourage others in their surfing journey. Falling into the millennial trap of having too many hobbies, she can also be found skating, sewing, drawing, doing DIY and learning photography.

Zara Jackson

SOCIALS + EVENTS ADVISOR

Zara is originally from Northern Ireland. She moved to Bristol in 2019 after living in Toronto and Stockholm. She started surfing shortly after moving here. She loves being in the water and tries to get to the beach for a surf as much as possible. When she's not surfing, she is usually found doing yoga, hiking, dabbling in DIY or exploring new places in her campervan.

Sophie Starke

TRIPS ADVISOR

Sophie moved to Bristol in 2023, in search of a better mix of city living and outdoors adventures. Since then, BGSC has been one of her main sources of community and friendship. Sophie is a keen intermediate surfer, who takes any opportunity to slide around on her surfskate, longboard or rollerskates when she can’t get to the waves. Happiest in water, she also loves wild swimming and wakeboarding.
